Recommendations for a grocery store (Buda side)

What is a recommended grocery store, convenient to our location - on the river, opposite Parliament?

There is a small grocery store with an upstairs cafe down the road from St. Matthias Church. If I remember correctly, it is on a corner.

Just look around after you get there and you'll find grocery stores. Where there are people, they require food.
We were in Budapest in April, and miss the place greatly.

Nearly directly across the river from the Parliament is a major square called Batthyány tér. At that location is an old market hall that now houses a modern Spar grocery. There is also an interesting church, a couple of restaurants, the stop for the H5 Inner City that will take you to Szentendre, the M2 that will get you Pest, and a stop for the 19/41 tram that runs the Buda side of the Danube River. https://www.google.com/maps/@47.5064531,19.0382388,3a,90y,222.74h,90.09t/data=!3m7!1e1!3m5!1sbTNmk0eKJMqMDt9X4XxTPA!2e0!6s%2F%2Fgeo3.ggpht.com%2Fcbk%3Fpanoid%3DbTNmk0eKJMqMDt9X4XxTPA%26output%3Dthumbnail%26cb_client%3Dmaps_sv.tactile.gps%26thumb%3D2%26w%3D203%26h%3D100%26yaw%3D82.29819%26pitch%3D0%26thumbfov%3D100!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en

Thanks for these.

Our ship docked yesterday and we had some free time to check out the location of our flat. It was Sunday and all was pretty quiet. We would not have spotted this Spar had we not been looking for a WC ... and thought the building we spotted might be a rail/transit station. Adjacent to the Batthyány tér metro stop there is a Spar.

We will also be checking out the other suggestions since we find grocery stores in other countries a very interesting adventure in cultural differences.

James, Yes, indeed. The red brick building center of the page from your link is the building that has the Spar.

James, Ah, yes. But the Spar was more than adequate to get us going for the first day (eggs, beer, bread, beer, butter, ... did I mention beer?). We are headed to the Market today, as soon as we sort out the transport options.

The Great Market Hall is pretty amazing but don't forge that there are a half dozen interesting, and less touristy, markets in Budapest well worth seeing. .
