Recommendation on transfer from Budapest airport to Intercontinental Hotel

Hi. We are 2 Canadian couples arriving in Budapest this Sunday afternoon and are looking for private transfer from the airport to the Intercontinental Hotel. Any recommendations? Expected cost in Forint? Thanks

When you come into the terminal, there will be a shuttle service booth. You can buy round trip tickets there, and you make reservations at that time for the return trip. You will follow a colored line on the floor to the front of the terminal where your name will show up on a television screen. They're quick, efficient and somewhat inexpensive for the services provided.

"Private Transfer"? Okay call László MÁRKUS. Okay, quick lesson in Hungarian. Typically Hungarians put their family name first when writing their name. And yes, they commonly refer to each other by family name. Then, the be more "western" many started doing it First than Family. Well it got down right confusing. So now it is common to put the family name in all caps so you can tell which is which. The website of my old friend is: http://silverwings.hu/

Price is 9 750 HUF (32 EUR) to 13 500 HUF (45 EUR) depending on the car.

If you dont "need" the private transfer, take a taxi. Just follow the black line in baggage claim to the Fotaxi Kiosk and tell them where you are going. In less time than the private driver, you will be home. Why less time? Well, the private drivers have to use the parking lot which is quite a walk. So they will meet you at the arrivals hall, then take you upstairs and walk you to the drop off lane. Then they will leave you and go get the car. In the mean time the guys taking the taxi are on their way into town. BUT, both solutions have their benefits.

Price is about 8 000 forint 27 EUR including tip to most of Budapest.

Strongly suggest NOT taking the shuttle service. We got talked into it, after arriving late in the evening. We waited at the airport for 1.5 hours, and finally got taken to our hotel. Others on the same plane were still waiting.

This is the miniBud shuttle. They are the RED colored shuttle. The price is decent but you may end up waiting considerable time.
