Personal / Food Tour in Budapest

My husband I will be in Budapest for 4 days around the week of Thanksgiving. We have never done a private/personal tour in any of our travels, but thought we would give it a shot in Budapest to get better acquainted with the city more quickly and with a personal touch. We are also visiting Vienna and Prague on this trip if anyone recommends we do tours in those cities, either in addition to or instead of Budapest. Thanks for any recommendations!

What I usually do is take one of the Free Walking Tours where the tour guides work for tips. Then I go back and take their nightlife tour where they take you to nightclubs, bars and/or restaurants. Their night tours often have people from all over the world, and they're a pretty vivacious bunch.

We see no need for private guides in most cities. When I hit a new city, I've done a lot of reading on Wikipedia, and I study Google Maps on where we're staying and the immediate neighborhoods closely.

Budapest, Vienna and Prague are absolutely great night time cities too. I love'em all.

I can send you a couple of names, but Budapest is an easy town to navigate and with "Eyewitness Top 10 Guide to Budapest" which is nice because it fits in a pocket, you can do a very good job on your own.
If you like I can give you some suggestions but to be helpful i need to know the date of arrival and where you are staying.
Okay, that sounds creepy, but its a big city and a starting point helps or the advice says to begin some place 2 miles away; and somethings are closed on Monday or Saturday.
Or, if you like, depending on the day of the week, buy me a glass of wine and all the advice just flows out (yes, I will be there Native American Heritage day week).
