Open Letter to Mr E

Mr E, I want to thank you for all your help and advice. Changing Airbnbs was huge, and you were right to suggest I do so. You made the city easy to get around, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I really enjoyed the two thermal baths. In my personal opinion, Lukacs was the winner overall. It isn't the grandest, but it has everything you need for a great price.
Your willingness to share your knowledge should be applauded. I want everyone who comes to this forum to know that this person is knowledgeable and trustworthy. Trust on the internet is a hard thing to earn, and everyone should know they can trust this person.

Thank you again. Your city is amazing. Honestly, Vienna was a letdown after being in Budapest. If I can come back, I want to. Thermal bath everyday.

I so agree that one of the best experiences in Budapest is the going to a thermal bath. I visited there in 2012 and just loved the city.

Mark, I am speechless. You are a true gentleman. Thank you for the kind words. A few have tried to discover what drives me on this forum and when tourists come to town; the truth is that this has been my home even before I moved here and I just enjoy sharing it. Nothing else. Thank you again and i wait for your return.

I appreciate and wholeheartedly agree with Mark that a) trust on the internet is difficult to find b) when it is found it should be noted and thanked c) and Mr E delivers that and so much more with his vast knowledge of the city that he kindly shares with travelers. It is a joy to read Mr E's sensible takes on this beautiful, fun and ever changing city.

I am the son of two parents that fled Hungary in 1956. My father's younger brother's photo appears on the wall of the Terror Museum. I am fortunate to have been born in the US and to speak Hungarian (which I still do to this day although its getting more and more rusty without people to speak with). I've traveled to Budapest since 1974 (I was there when Nixon resigned and when the RedSox blew a 10 game lead in August that same year) and have seen wondrous changes for mostly good but some not so good. But I get my Buda-Updates from Mr E (and I have cousins in Budapest!). He is a great, trustworthy resource.

On my next trip I hope to meet Mr E at Kadarka. A place that I now frequent when there because of his many recommendations. I've taken relatives and friends and, made a few, too (friends that is - haven't made a relative in many a year).

BTW, I favor the Rudas over the Lukacs although my Dad agrees with you two.

Meg sok Biztonsagos utazashoz - Don

It does mean a lot. But I've gotten some comments that I overdo it. I've thought about it, and maybe true. I don't want my enthusiasm to damper other people's input. So I am thinking I do more PMs and do less posting on the forum. I don't want to put a damper on anyone as I learn from it too. Keeping a fresh perspective is difficult. And this is a toy for everyone and not being a hinderence to that is respectful.

Mr E. was very helpful to us in planning our trip to Budapest (and I also think he had useful comments on the Eger part of our trip) in May 2019.

Keep posting Mr. E, I don’t think most posters here feel you overdo it. Information changes from year-to-year and the fact that you are keeping this information current is huge for travelers to Budapest. Also for those of us who are thinking about a future trip and bookmark these posts.

As a side note, it was nice meeting you virtually at the last international zoom hosted by Andrea from Sacramento. People like you, Andrea, and the many frequent, knowledgeable posters are one of reasons this forum is so successful.
