I am going Budapest for the Xmas markets but wondering about the river cruises. Which ones would you recommend?

The two big companies appear to be Legenda and Silverline. I have been on both and really dont recall a huge difference in quality. But different companies do different styles. Some are just an hour up and down, some have a buffet dinner some serve dinner, some have music and a show. The views are stunning after sunset (about 4:30 LOL) so pick one that provides what you think you will enjoy. For me, the longer the better and at least drinks if not a meal. Just more relaxed and causual and more of an event (for me) that way.

The Legenda cruise was great! Seats on the top deck provided excellent views, but our evening was in September with warm temperatures. We made our reservation for cruise just a few days ahead of time after keeping an eye on the weather forecast.

Hi,
I was in Budapest from 11/6 through 11/12/24 and used Legenda. Had a fine experience - a one hour tour with an OK glass of champagne with beautiful views. I did it mainly for experiencing the Parliament lit up at night and it was worth it: no frills and no fuss.
The rest of the Danube shoreline was also very, very pretty. Book in advance.
