Night train from Budapest to Prague- family of four

I am looking to book overnight train tickets fro Budapest to Prague for a family of four. The Checzk reservation system is listing cabins for 1 or 2 or 3 and "Couchette" for 4 or 6 people.

Can anyone help me understand what a couchette is, and if I book a couchette for 4, will that be sleeping accommodation or sitting?

Thank you.

This is a great reference website for trains in general and their overnight travel shows some example pictures. Just be aware that even with a flat "bed", many people do not find the overnight trains to be very restful.

The primary difference between a Couchette and a Sleeper is that the Sleeper has a small sink and is less often shared by strangers. All have flat bunk beds and I believe the beds are pretty equal, aside from the amount of head-room. The 4-person couchette is the best choice when your group fills it up.
