I get updates from several Budapest sites and it's entirely possible the Museum Festival at the National Museum is happening this Sunday the 13th, not next weekend. In the past it's been the 3rd weekend and for both Sat and Sun, now possibly just Sunday? I get conflicting info sometimes.

Ooh. I guess I need to Google again. I researched this quite some time ago and came up with dates of May 20 and 21. I'll update this post if I can find definitive info.
I've seen it several places now as just on the 13th :( I think possibly because the 20-21 is Pentecost (Whitsunday and Monday, national holidays).
I did find a bunch of things happening on Sunday the 20th such as a folk art festival in Varkert Bazaar on the Buda side, folk events at Buda Castle and a festival and toy exhibition at Vajdahunyad Castle in City Park. All sound like fun, and based on the May Day events at City Park last year I know I'll enjoy any of them, nice to mingle with the locals celebrating a holiday.
Yes, I turned up some of the same events you did, but the May 13 thing at the National Museum has a different name from what they used last year, and it's only one day rather than the previous two days. It's pretty odd that they'd make such substantial changes, but you may well be right that it's all about the holiday weekend. I believe I saw the May 20-21 dates in some sort of "What's Going On" brochure I picked up in Budapest, but I discarded it after skimming through it.
I'm not in Budapest at the moment, or I'd go by the museum tomorrow and ask. Unfortunately, I have a non-refundable hotel reservation in Budapest for May 19-20-21, so I'm locked into those dates. I still have lots of things to do in the city, so the time will be productive.
