I am looking to purchase 6 tickets on the MAV-START site for Budapest to Vienna. It appears that we would qualify for a group discount. Is there a way to purchase 6 tickets on the website or do we need to purchase in person when we arrive in Budapest for the discount?
We will also be purchasing 6 tickets for a day trip to Eger the first week of June, is there a reduced cost for round trip tickets or are they purchased as separate one way tickets?

I cant tell you about group tickets; never done it. YOu might give them a call. Nice folks generally.
Eger is sort of a tough daytrip (but people do it all the time), but a great overnighter.
Mike, last year when I had questions about train travel in Hungary I contacted MAV-START by email and received a prompt reply. They were very helpful. On their web site under About Us and then Contact you will find the Inquiries email address.
One of the reasons I enjoy Budapest is the people have always been good to us. The MAV folks, or a kid in the metro that thought we looked lost and offered to help. Enjoy!
