M1 Metro Inconvenience

A replacement bus will run between Mexikói Street and Oktogon on the M1 metro line during the weekend and between 7 and 8 October. A replacement bus will transport passengers on the M1 metro line between Mexikói Street and Oktogon this weekend (20 September and 1 October) and the next weekend, 7-8 October due to track maintenance works.

If I'm understanding what I'm seeing on the metro map, basically this means no M1 line those weekends along Andrassy ut from Oktogon through to the far side of City Park?

Oh my. Thanks for the heads up.

Only on Saturday and Sunday? It doesn't start on Friday afternoon or evening?

Sorry, the M1 doesn't go that far. It stops in Mexico.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

Hmmm, I may be safe if they finish on time. Busses are fine but I like the M1.

Yes, from the Oktogon to Mexikói (Mexico) út (Ave) which is pretty much 2/3rds of its full length. But its a nice walk.

I was wondering because I'm planning a trip to Gödöllő - via the M1 and then the H8. I don't want to take the time to walk Andrassy ut that day.

I had thought I'd go to Gödöllő on Thursday or Friday, which now I'll certainly do to avoid the shutdown and bus bridge.

I definitely plan to walk Andrassy ut a different day.

The H8 to Gödöllő? Or the bus bridge replacement for the M1?

By the way, I've been researching whether I can use the Budapest Go app to buy the supplement ticket on the H8 to transit from the boundary of the area covered by my 15 day Budapest pass out to Gödöllő. (It appears that I can.) That's a pretty nice app, with the ability to add favorite stops and lines and see near term arrivals for the lines.

Only 143 HUF (~$1.36) for the 20km supplement ticket!

Ah yes, actually the M2 to the H8. So no worries. I have the M2 in my notes for the day but still had the M1 in my brain.

Good thing you've straightened me out or I might have ended up at the end of the M1 line wondering where to find the H8 bus stop! 🤣

You are so good around town, that I thought you knew a back way there.

The last couple of stops on the M2 are above ground, so that's interesting.

Hah, I'm just good with Google Maps!

That's another thing I like about the Budapest Go app .... it has a great tie-in with Google Maps so that I see all my saved places when I'm in their route planner. Very seamless.
