There is a group of four who would like to find a knowledgeable tour guide for Bucharest on Nov. 13th or 14th this year. Does anyone have any recommendations as well as a link to reach this person? Please advise. Thank you.
Budapest or Bucharest? I'm guessing that Bucharest is auto correct gone wild. But I do know a good guide in Bucharest.
As for a guide in Budapest, sorry, that's one subject I can't help with. But I will follow the thread in hopes of learning. I know a good guide that I recommended for years, but he's getting a bit long in tooth.
If you fail to find a guide you feel comfortable with, this is an easy city to self guide with a pocket guide book like DK Eyewitness Budapest Top 10. And I am always willing to help out.
Sorry, forgot to mention a few things.
Have your tour guide skip Jewish Budapest as that is best done through the organization referenced in the Dob utcs Synagogue web site.
Skip the Opera and the Parliament with a guide because they have their own tours.
Book the Parliament ASAP as it sells out fast.
And I would skip any guide that wants to use a car or bus.
This is the gentleman I last used. Acutually I have been using him and recommending him for a great many years: http://guideinbudapest.fw.hu/Site_Brown/Private_guide_in_Budapest.html if he is still in business he is excellent.
