Laundry services in Budapest

Good day everyone,

My family and I are currently traveling in Europe. We will be arriving in Budapest on Monday evening. Is there a laundry services or laundromat near the Hyatt in downtown Budapest. Ideally, if it was a send out service it would be a true 24 hour turnaround. We are having family photos taken.

Thanks!!

Hi Cookie Monster,

I'd second what Mr. E said about the hotel. Since you're staying at the Parisi Udvar, the easiest path is honestly just to ask the front desk about their laundry or pressing service when you check in on Monday evening. A hotel of that caliber will absolutely have an in-house service, and they can often arrange express or same-day turnaround if you ask nicely and explain you have family photos coming up. That gets you fresh clothes without hunting around an unfamiliar neighborhood.

If you'd rather do it yourself or the hotel's price feels steep, there are drop-off wash-and-fold services around District VII (the Jewish Quarter area), which is a quick walk or short tram ride from downtown. The reception staff can usually point you to the closest one, and they'd know which offer next-day service.

One tip from my own travels: bring your laundry to the desk the evening you arrive, confirm the turnaround time and the price in writing, and separate anything delicate. It saves a lot of worry.

Enjoy Budapest, it's a fantastic city, and have fun at the family photos!

The problem with the hotel location is not a deal breaker by any means, it just means an extra step to get around town.

This is a huge city, and you will need the public transportation to get around. The good news is that every step along the way is fascinating. The architecture never ends and if you are of a certain age, its free.

The key is staying above ground to see it. Unfortunately, the only public transportation near the hotel is the underground M3. But in both directions the M3 crosses the 47/49 tram and that will get you to a few of the sights in Pest and across to Buda. The M3 will also get you fairly close to Andrassy ut and the Basilica and Nyugati train station (worth seeing) where you can get on the 4/6 tram and see a lot.

I could recommend one full service laundry (I use it once a month or so). But it’s by the Opera House. https://maps.app.goo.gl/4SyDNeveA5XKLiCW9 And there is a good name brand self-service laundry not too far from the M3 metro stop at Deak Ferenc ter. https://maps.app.goo.gl/YDgAJb2nBL1WEJdU8
