Late night dining in Budapest

Hi, We will be arriving to airport in Budapest at 930 pm. Will there be any place we can eat on a Sunday night?

You mean you arrive I'm Budapest at the Budapest airport at 9:30 pm and want a place when you get from the airport into town?

If you arrive on time and if you are carry-on only, and if you take a taxi, you can be at most central hotels by 10:30. A lot of restaurants and burger places and kebob places stay open until midnight and no one will throw you out if you are still eating at 0:30. Where are you staying, maybe i know a place near.

Or you mean you are going to the airport at 9:30 (leaving town) and want to eat inside the airport? In which case, I have no idea.

Hi,
Sorry I mean we arrive from Paris in Budapest at 930 pm and our Hotel is the Gerloczy Boutique Hotel (they confirmed their resto will be closed.) We won't be jet lagged as we are coming from Paris and hope to find late night dining in Pest.
Thx so much for your help!

Hotel choice aside, there are a number of places in District VI along Dob utcs and Kiraly utca that stay open late. Heck, my favorite wine bar has a good menu and will cook tiĺ at least 11:30.

But you are staying in sort of a dead zone in District V. Let me ask around, but I suspect you will have to make a bit of a walk.

If I didnt have tons of luggage I would take a taxi to Kadarka. Eat drink relax, meet some locals then a taxi to the hotel. Sorry it's not on a metro or tram line so ....

But let me see if there is anything around your hotel. BUT, please don't eat there as there are too many good and reasonably priced restaurants in town.

Oh, night of week matters. In front of the hotel is an Irish pub with burgers thats open toll 10 or 12 or 1am depending on the day. Otherwise head for Dob utca. Maybe 10 to 15 min to a good place that's open. Tomorrow I'll send you some links so you can choose and reserve. It's NYE here and I'm sort of occupied.

OK thanks so much, We don't mind walking or taking a cab!

We arrive on a Sunday though so that probably makes it harder.

We were there in August 2023 and ate at kebab and Turkish and/or Mediterranean several nights, sometimes after 11pm. If you are not specifically looking for an indoor, sitdown restaurant then this may be a choice. Most had a few little tables on the sidewalk and we felt quite comfortable. I was with my young adult sons who love kebab of all types. When they were little they called the meat on the vertical broiler or shawarma a "meat tornado"
