I am just starting to plan a trip to Hungary for our family of 8 including my 10 year old grandson. We will all be in Budapest for a week. I must say though I am rethinking this choice. Our grandson loves hot springs and swimming. We will be going in April 2023. It seems that most of the famous baths do not allow children. This never even occurred to me. Are there any baths in Budapest that allow kids. We will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary while there and I envisioned us touring during the day and coming together as a family in the evening to relax and enjoy a good soak. Help!
I can’t answer that question, but I think Budapest is a nice location for a family trip, with or without the baths. Plenty to do and see for all ages. At the risk of suggesting something I know nothing at all about, I see Aquapark also. I read “something for everyone”.
I sent Kate's kids to Aqua Park. They had a good time. Or read the link above. Almost every event here has something for kids. I am going to a beer festival in a few minutes and I fully expect there to be a play area for the kids.
One really great option for kids (and the grownups) is Palatinus Strand on Margaret Island. Website here: https://en.palatinusstrand.hu/
I had forgotten that about Kate’s boys. Yes, they enjoyed. And Christy, that did look like an interesting place when I walked past.
Hi from Wisconsin,
Szechenyi Bath is made for all ages. If anyone under age 50 can't enjoy the far pool, there are three in a row, with the swirling circle, well I don't know what to think. I was 60 last time I was there and laughed so much I hurt the next day. The opposite bath has the old men playing chess on floating chess boards. A more sedate bath. If I recall correctly, the middle bath is swimming.
