Any problems getting from Budapest to Bratislava by train?
We didnthentrip in October 2016. Very easy. Trains left about every two hours. We purchased out ticket the day before. We purchased our ticket the day before and it turned out to be a wise decision. The process to purchase a ticket was slow, perhaps due to the refugee crisis, and as we were taking the first train out we wanted to have no delays in purchasing a ticket. Train was not an express, but it did not stop at each town. Easy trip.
One other word of advice. Check out cab rates to the town of Bratislava from the train station carefully. There are different rates depending on the cab company.
No problems to get to Bratislava from Budapest by train. You can go from the train station to the center by public transport (quite cheaper than taxi). All trains from Budapest to Prague, Berlin go via Bratislava.
Hi,
It has been a while, but I took the train from Budapest to Bratislava and then a tram into the city center.
