Hello!
I have been seeing in the news more about the refugee situation. We will be traveling to Budapest for only a few days, but wondered if anyone has leads on how we might be able to volunteer/assist?
Thanks,
Ling

Ling, there is currently another thread on the forum with suggestions of charities to contribute to. I'm sure if you check some of these groups they may have suggestions of how you can physically help.

Thank you very much!!!
That thread is more about providing financial aid to relief organizations. If younwant to assist in person while in Budapest, younsouldnread this another articles regarding what is going on there:
It sounds like Hungarian authorities are doing all they can to discourage the refugees from entering Hungary---like a razor-wire fence on the southern border to keep them out . People stuck at the train station were treated in such a way that they do not trust the Hungarian police. It is hard to tell if there is even a volunteer organization providing food and necessities to those waiting to leave, but you could go to the train station and see if there is a way to help.
