Does anyone know if the opera company has rehearsals on Sunday afternoons? We would not want to schedule a tour without being able to view the main auditorium. Thank you.

I suspect there is no hard rule. I bought my ticket last time a few hours prior. You could ask. Of course i did it in February. Worth the time and effort. .

I have Rick Steves book in front of me, Nov 2023. "The hours of The Hungarian State Opera House Lobby/box office open daily 10;00 to 19:00 or until first intermission. English tours usually daily at 13:30, 15:00 and 16:30"..."you can prebook your tickets at the official Opera website www.opera.hu". Rick recommends this as tour tickets sell out on the weekends. I reco going to the website and seeing if they have a schedule for the dates and times you want. Ah but you were talking about rehearsals. Maybe there is a link that has the schedule of events link and you could back track.
