How noisy at Gellert thermal bath

Has anyone been to the Gellért baths very recently? Their website has hotel renovation next door may be noisy. How noisy. I am sensitive to noise/sound and will nit be able to qear my noise cancelling headphones in the bath of course.

I have read that this is a less crowded place than the one everyone goes to.

I would be going tomorrow, or at least before I leave on Friday. Anyone know how noisy it is nextdoor, such that perhaps I shouldn't go?

No, it's fine. You won't notice the construction unless something has changed drastically in the last week.

And a good experience before the changes. But all the bath houses are good, but different, experiences. Enjoy.

Which pool? There is a play pool and a lap pool. Good chance is the Gellert outside poolsi are closed too. Lukacs Baths is always good for a very local experience.

Do they have cold plunge baths too? Given the very hot temperatures this week I'm not relishing the thought of sitting in hot water. I'm already melting.

Sometimes a comment like I am about to make sounds snarky and I sure don’t mean it that way.

It’s perfectly alright to skip the baths. While they ARE a unique feature of Budapest, they are far from the only unique feature. You might enjoy other things more - and that is fine. There are plenty of things to enjoy.

I have only been to Rudas, Gellert, and Széchenyi, and of those 3 Széchenyi is the one I would enjoy more in hot weather.

I was at Gellert last Oct. (so not recently) and one of their outdoor pools was closed and one was open. I am fairly (but not 100%) certain that all 3 had a small cold plunge pool.

Outside you will find a warm play pool. Comfortable warm, not hot. Inside all those mentioned you will find pools of various temperatures, including cold.

I see today hit 86. Tomorrow 81 then the highs will be in the 70's and 60's for a week.

Sczechiyi, the outdoor pool that is closed is the hot one. There are plenty of hot ones inside. Outdide tge recreational pool and lap pool are open as well as a smaller very hit pool. One cold plunge inside is closed, and one is open. Go in the morning and usually not busy.
