I am planning a trip in Central Europe and Wizz Air offers the lowest air fares. I have never flown a super budget airline like them or Ryan. I will be careful in sticking to their rules. I have read very negative reviews in another travel forum. I wonder what your opinions are.
Wizz uses Budapest as a hub, so I have been on a number of their flights in Eastern Europe. I sort of like them, no nonsense, cheap, nonstop short flights. They have really opened up Eastern Europe to tourism in a good way. Just count on the ticket being twice that advertised by the time you add carrying luggage and/or a checked bag. But Kyiv or Titograd to Budapest for $70 is still a bargain.
Are they pedantic about carry-on and personal item sizes?

I will follow these rules. In fact, I deliberately bought the Eagle Creek international carry-on which is two inches shorter (20" vs the usual 22"). I measured it with my tape measure and it's ok. Yet, their sizer may be slightly different. One poster in a different forum claimed that he paid a penalty of 50 euros just because his carry-on's soft handle stuck out for 1.5 cm. I guess this is just one way for budget airlines to make $.
