Looking at Al Habtoor, the Kempinski or The Prestige for hotels in Budapest? Anyone have any input? Or if y'all have any other recommendations for other places to stay, that would be great! We are there for 3 days and would prefer to be in the center of things! Thank so much!
Here is a link to a recent re-cap of hotels in Budapest:

If you want to be in the center of things, look at hotels on the Andrassy Ave corridor.
The location of the Al Habtoor is okay. Like a 9 out of 10 for most styles of tourism. It was the Ritz but, for some reason, lost its franchise, so the owner named it after himself. The last time I read the Google reviews, they were not as good after the change as they were before.
There are "as good" and better recommended / rated in town. See the list referenced above.
The Kempinski is not located as well as the Al Habtoor. The advantage of the Al Habtoor has to do with access to Deak Ferenc ter. Neither are stunning locations because they are in a tourist hotspot with nothing much to see. I really dont like the look of the Kempinski either.
The Prestiege may be a wonderful hotel in an unfortunate location. Or maybe a good location on your 4th trip back.
These are all just my highly biased opinions of locations. I dont stay in hotels in town so i cant comment on much beyond location. You might love them.
I'm not sure it would meet your criteria for location, but we had an excellent stay at the Casati Hotel. It is an adult only boutique hotel with excellent service and facilities.
TravelBug79, nice looking hotel, very very nice location. Were you there during the construction next door?
Hi gretchmed. We stayed at K+K Hotel Opera recently and found the location was perfect in terms of being central .
