My daughter and I will be traveling to Hungary in October. We are both avid birders and have heard that this park is good for birders. A few questions:
1. Any good hotels/motels at the Park? We prefer hotels to AirBnB options, but didn't see anything in my quick search.
2. Does anyone know of a tour from Budapest to the park that includes an overnight?
3. Is it recommended to rent a car for our own trip/tour?
Thanks in advance. I'll probably be posting more questions as this is definitely a new area of the world for me to explore!

To be practical I think you will need to rent a car or hire a transfer. Its a 2.5 hour drive from Budapest. By train and bus 4 or 5 hours. There are some hotels on the north side of the park in Hortobbagy. Daytrip.com is going to want 200 euro each way. I am not aware of a tour, I suspect maybe I could find you a private guide but I suspect you will be talking about 500 euro for the day.
