We will be visiting the Great Synagogue this fall. The website states that headwear is required for men. Is there a specific type that is necessary? Is a ball cap acceptable? We do not want to be disrespectful to their faith. Thank you.

You don't have to bring anything. They hand them out at the door.
No charge as it makes a nice souvenir. Made of cardboard.

Or buy a nice one in the gift shop. Bring a couple of Bobby pins, you will be happy you did.
