One more thing. Loved the movie. Is the hotel a real thing and can we visit? When I Google all I get is information about the movie.

You can see parts of the fictitious "hotel" in the German town of Görlitz, right on the Polish border (neat town).

Goerlitz is great. I visited it last month for a ceramic fair and walked past the former department store that I believe played the part of the hotel in the film. You could peer in the window, but you couldn't see much. It looked like there was renovation work going on. I'm sure the tourist office could provide information on the status of the building.
