I want to hire a guide in Budapest to help me find ancestor data in Hungary and nearby Ukraine (that used to be part of Hungary). I don't know where to find someone reliable and safe. Any ideas?

First, safe is not an issue in Hungary. This country is one of the safest in Europe. You might check with a gentleman named Andrew Illes http://www.guideinbudapest.com/ I have known him for a decade now and have a lot of respect for him. You know that crossing the border into Ukraine from Hungary isn't a quick process. You will need a Ukraine guide for the Ukraine. I am heading to Ukraine later this year if the protests cool down and have been interviewing guides but don't have one I am excited with yet.
