Food served all day in Budapest restaurants?

Do the kitchens close after a set lunch time and then reopen? I see that many casual restaurants list hours open all day but I know in many countries the kitchens close for a time to regroup for dinner and only beverages and deserts are served.
For example if I went to Frici Papa or Stika Gastropub at around 2-3 pm would I be able to order food?

If they advertise as open, the kitchen is open. Frici Papa is open till 22:00 most days and Stika (a favorite for the spiked raspberry lemonade and the sweet street corner tables) is a breakfast and lunch place and closes at 16:00 most days.

If the kitchen is closed, they will advertise the restaurant as closed. Like this one: Pörc & Prézli Étterem. https://g.co/kgs/EQAMBNW. I guess there are exceptions, but haven't run into any recently.

I tend to eat at off hours and rarely have any trouble. And I follow the hours listed on Google Maps. Usually I go to the website directly to see menus - most places have them.

The spiked raspberry lemonade is palinka raspberry lemonade - I truly don’t like palinka, but whatever they do with this is really good. I didn’t make it to Stika this past trip. Sigh. I am going to be a bit contrary but the food at Frici Papa is not mind-blowing nor is it as cheap as it used to be a few years ago the first time I went. But it’s definitely interesting.

Thank you Mr. E & TTM. I’m trying to take advantage of all the daylight I can.
When we’re in Budapest sunset is only about 15 minutes earlier (3:53 pm) than home (4:15 pm). We’re used to the planning around short days.

It can not be more than a 3 minute walk from my front door and yet I havent been in 10 years. Part of the reason is that the place, which was once a websiteless mom and pop and a perfect example of a cheap Hungarian eatery, has made it into every guide book and food website on the planet. Now there are lines of, mostly young people for some reason, waiting to get in. But relative to most tourist spots, the prices are pretty good.

Okay, time for two unique places. The center of tourism is expanding and so these take you out of the old center.

So all three of those are out of the center of the tourism. Thats a good thing because Budapest is a lot larger and more interesting than many realize. Here is a 1940 map of Budapest. Everything you see, all the buildings are still there. See the extent of the historic town center ... https://artlogic-res.cloudinary.com/w_2400,h_2400,c_limit,f_auto,fl_lossy,q_auto/artlogicstorage/themaphouse/images/view/f2bc8a2137df643432fb1898a7895883j/themaphouse-gyorgy-stoits-budapest-1940-c..jpg

No....... Yes, the sun goes down early, but the day continues. I love the short days. All the lights on the outside of the buildings and all the lights in the shop and restaurant windows. Its a whole new perspective on the city. Life goes on despite the sunest. Opening hours are the same and the numbers on the sidewalks are still the same.
