Flying to Budapest from Italy in September

In late September, I'm flying on Lufthansa from Turin, Italy to Budapest via a layover in Munich. Does anyone know, generally speaking, if connecting flights are on time? being cancelled in Europe? Is the US airlines staffing shortage we're experiencing similar to European airlines flights within Europe? (I imagine they are).

I'm wondering what kind of plan B I should have if one of the flights gets cancelled (Turin to Munich or Munich to Budapest).

Thanks!

September? Who knows. But other than a few key airports I think the issues are a bit overblown. Looks like your choice from Munich to Budapest is Lufthansa and there are several a day. For insurance, book the earliest and you will have backups..

If you fly direct from Italy to Budapest (your title implied that), Ryan and Wizz fly out of Milan non-stop and cheap.

Ryanair flies that route on Tuesdays and Saturdays in September for something like $19 one way. It's the only direct flight from Turin to Budapest.

It's not an easy route to go on without connecting thru other larger cities.
