We're coming to Budapest in early September by river and staying over a few extra days.
3 questions...what about airbnb's...best area to stay, and our flight leaves at 6 AM...so best way
to get to the airport so early (4 ish?)

I have made the 6-6:30 am flight home 3 times and just call City Taxi, +36 1 211 1111. I call as I'm leaving my room and by the time I'm in the lobby of my hotel the taxi is there--fast, friendly service, card or cash. Trip from most areas of Pest is around 7000 HUF. Arriving by 4-4:30 am is good, I allow 30 minutes for the ride.

I use the same company .... imagine that. I have one near miss though. I called in the morning and the dispatcher said it would take 15 to 20 minutes. I guess something was going on in town. Dont know. I guess there was a little edge in my voice cause i didn't have 15 or 20 minutes. I thanked him and hung up and started digging for the number for FoTaxi. Before i could dial it i got a phone call from City Taxi. They said a taxi would be out front in a minute and they were going to stay on the line until it was there. I looked out my open door into the street to see a competitor's taxi pull up. City Taxi had actually gotten me a car from a competitor. What great folks. Now I call the night before and the car is always there 5 to 10 minutes early.
Oh, last trip on the way to the airport i left my laptop in the front seat of the cab. It drove away and i was inside before i realized it. I called City Taxi and they turned the car around for me. Lap Top and 6.000 euro in the lap top case, safe and secure.

Forgot the where to stay and the airbnb

For airbnb, lets say "Short Term Rental" as that's more accurate. Sure, i stay in one three times a year in Budapest; but there are great hotels in every price range too.
Find one with good reviews in the area discussed in the link above (Andrassy ut or maybe 2 blocks south of Andrassy or one block north). Just make sure it has good reviews. If you see something interesting but arent sure about the location, pass it along and i will tell you if I know anything about the apartment or the location.
