Hi , All.
Planing to be in Budapest in the beginning of August. I would like to take a day trip to Suntandre. Which way is better to do it. Should I take a train there and bout back. Is the bout that goes there is part of public transportation system. Is my BKK pass will be valid on it. Do you think I need a hole day there or I should come in the afternoon and Wait until the dark to come back to see Budapest lit up at night or I should come in the morning and came back earlier ( it this case I will make some plans to do in the city.). Any information will be greatly appreciated.
I spent the better part of a day in Szentendre, but I went into every little art museum in the town. If you're not interested in doing that, you probably won't need a full day.
I think one way by boat would be good. James E. will probably see your post and provide guidance. I took the suburban train (HEV Line 5) from the Batthyany ter Metro station. I didn't have a transit pass at that point and simply bought a ticket. It was very cheap. If you decide to travel both ways by HEV and determine that the pass doesn't cover the full cost, I suggest buying both tickets before you leave Budapest. There's no ticket machine or staffed ticket booth right at the HEV departure point in Szentendre, though you'll walk past a place to buy tickets on the way.
Here is a good little guide to Szentendre that explains how to get there:

I took the Hév train from Batthany Ter, since I had a transit pass I just needed the supplemental ticket for 310 forints, on the way back I bought my ticket on the Hév train, there are also machines at the station in Szentendre.
In the summer the last boat back is at 7 pm, not sure if it will be dark by the time it arrives back in Budapest.
Thank you so much for the info. I think I will take train there and boat back just to enjoy Budapest from the water.
I love the boat ride back. Have done it 3 times now. The last time i brought a guest along and she was blown away by the view as your round the island and enter the town.
