Can anybody recommend a good Hungarian food cooking class in Budapest. I would enjoy bringing home a few recipes.
Easy, and Agnes is great. A little measuring, a little palinka, a little mixing, a little palinka, a little cooking, a little palinka, a little ... you get the idea
My wife and I also took the class from Agnes. Very enjoyable! On an earlier trip we took a class from Chefparade which included a tour of the grand market. Also very good. On of the advantages of an in home class such as Agnes gives is that you have four hours or more of one on one with a native. You are able to talk about a lot more than just cooking.
I loved ChefParade (http://www.cookingbudapest.com). You can choose your own dishes from the selection, and they let you try different wines and liqueurs. I did recreate the dishes at home very easily. In fact, I had such a good time last year, that I'm bringing my mother and aunt with me for a second time at the end of April this year!
I don't know if anyone has tried the Eat With app. We tried it a few months back in Palermo, Sicily (and had a wonderful time with a guy who is an excellent chef, took us to market, we all made the meal, and just hung out and visited). All for a very reasonable price. Looks like there are options in Budapest for someone that does this also (and there are many good trip reports on the site).
