Are there any castles to visit on a day trip from Budapest? If so, is there a way to hire a private car, and what would be the cost?
Also, how much is it to take a taxi from the airport into Budapest for two people?
We are going on a river cruise to the Black Sea and back in May, and also heard there are interesting villages that we could take public transportation to visit near Budapest. Any suggestions?

scythian, you are the local Budapest expert, I am just a tourist. (still trying to figure out the scythian thing - Ukranian?Romanian? ... anyway .....)
You dont need a driver for Visegrad or one for Miskolc http://diosgyorivar.hu/ although a private driver would be a lot more confortable. Let me know and I will send you a name.
For really great castels, you really need to go to Slovakia. They have some world class examples and it makes a great over night trip.
