Just checked the official Houses of Parliament website and the show availability on the 18 and 19 September….

I suspect the above poster has looked at the UK Houses of Parliament not the Hungarian one!

Having said that the Calendar shows non availability for the Hungarian Parliament on 18 September but go into ticket purchasing for 17 September, scroll sideways on the times for that day and there is availability on 18 September at 1000, 1100, 1200, 1300, 1400, 1500 and 1600 (then next on 22 September).

Thank you. That's the link I used. We arrive on the 18th, and I was hoping to tour Parliament on 19th or 20th. I just bought tickets for 22 now.

The link did not ask me which language audio guide I would need. I guess we just make the selection when we are there.

Yes, thats my understanding (last time I went, we still had real people talking). You will note where you bought it indicated all the languages.

BG, I would suggest you check your emails before your visit just to make sure everything is still a go. My ticket there was cancelled at the last minute because they were having Parliament sessions that day, and I wasn't able to get a ticket for the remaining two days I was there. Sure, that was an anomaly, so I wouldn't worry about it too much, but it wouldn't hurt to check before you go, just in case. I did wind up having a nice time in the gift shop. 😊 The building itself is just gorgeous!

Noon. Oh good. There are so many ways to reach parliament each with interesting stuff along the way that I don’t want to give suggestions as it’s very dependent on where you are staying. But most trips will take 20 to 30 minutes to reach the downriver side of the Parliament.

Then abandon the use of Google Maps as it will send you on a wild goose chase. Look for the statue of the guy on the horse, go down the steps towards the river and look left and you will see folks standing about 200m down the sidewalk. That’s the Shoes on the Danube memorial. I have a request which I will send in a PM.

Then you walk over to the visitor’s center (first get back up to the statue then use google maps) and start your tour. The whole thing ending in the Visitor’s center will take a solid hour, but it never hurts to be early.

Afterwards you need lunch. Do you want some suggestions? Depends on your plans. Since you are where you are, this is the time to do basements of old buildings full of Antiques and / or the 2-Tram scenic tour (which would affect my lunch suggestion).

If you are doing the 2-Tram then if you are into Art Nouveau architecture you get off the Széchenyi István tér stop and walk the inside of the Four Seasons Hotel then reboard at the next stop down the line; a 15 to 20 minute side trip at most. Next possible stop is Vigadó tér to snag some great photos of Castle Hill (Buda) and the river … (and maybe a different lunch suggestion if this is what you are doing) and some possibility of a tour of the Vigadó its self. Wow!! https://vir.vigado.hu/web/en/scheduled-guided-tours .

The next stop of note is Fovam ter which is the Great Market Hall stop. See how this all flows? Also, a good detour for one of my favorite wine bars which does have food opening a 3rd lunch choice. Or just enjoy Hungarian grape juice.

Then you can board the 47/49 tram and see the Jewish District but that’s more talk and maybe I have talked to much already?
