Have heard Budapest is great for the 20 something crowd - how about younger teens? Suggestions for things to do? Or should we head to a different city - we have a three day block of time to cap off a 6 week trip.
Actually the 20 somethings are going to have a better time in Prague. Budapest is pretty family friendly. Depends on what you want to do. History, architecture, food, bath houses, bikes, hiking, more food, spelunking, Russian Tank Driving, "Broadway" style theater, opera, ballet, classical music, jazz music.......
Definitely family friendly, you can be very comfortable with kids in a place like Margitsziget, the Buda castle or the wonderful zoo.
Margitziget has a big sports swimming pool for laps, and there's also a nice water park there.
Even if they are not into Opera, tour the opera house. It is exquisite! I would think they might like the bath houses, too. The shopping street near the central market has some very funky shops. We heard the Parliament Building is also exquisite, but you'll need to order tickets on line ahead of time. Take a night cruise down the Danube- that is awesome, too. And they have a cute zoo right in the city.
Maybe a caving tour http://caving.hu/ ?
