We are considering a private car transfer to Zagreb to meet our tour. The company we're considering says that side trips are always possible. Does anyone have any suggestions about side trips that would be of interest. We have all day to get to Zagreb.
We did the reverse trip several years ago. I have no recommendations for side trips, but the trip takes longer than you think. It was a good road, but nothing spectacular in the way of scenery.
I would suggest using the train when travelling direct. Easy connection. The only reason we did not use the train was our travel coincided with the refugee crisis and Hungary had closed its borders to trains.
Great idea. So its like 3:45 hours non-stop. Add a stop in Tihany on Lake Balaton for lunch and sight seeing and the craft shops and it adds an hour and puts you about another hour and a half into Budapest.
