Budapest photo walking

My wife and I are travelling to Budapest for the first time next week for a few days. We're experienced travellers in Europe and elswhere, and both are photographers who like to do street photography in 'gritty' (but safe) areas. We'd much rather photograph real locals in their natural urban environments than hoards of tourists with Nikons round their necks!

Has anyone got any recommendations for areas & routes in the city which would be good for this sort of thing?

Many thanks for any advice.

And the town takes on a whole different appearance when the sun goes down. Beat Paris.

Perfect, many thanks. We're only there this time for 3 nights, so that's masses to be going on with for now.

I am aware of the photo laws: I'm punctilious about respecting the subject, and these images are only for personal and local camera club use, so commercial issues do not apply.

Sounds like fun, and also I suspect we may be going back!
