Budapest Hotel Advice for July

Good Morning,

I will be in Budapest with my 2 adult daughters in July. Although they will only be with me 2 or 3 nights, I will be staying 5 and plan to just pay for the triple room rather than moving mid-trip. My 1st choice, Kapital inn, is not available for a triple. 2nd choice Opera Garden Hotel is available, but at 237euro p/night + tax. I would like to keep it around 175 euro if possible, 200 euro max (as I know triples are harder to come by and more expensive). Reason I am posting - I have found 2 hotels that show available as follows:

  • K + K Opera Garden Hotel - although it shows available for a triple on both their website & bookingdotcom, both site show only 2 twin beds or 1 queen or 1 king available to book. Not sure where the 3rd person is supposed to go, but I don't want a rollaway cot.
  • La Prima Fashion - shows a triple available on bookingdotcom, but not on their own website, where I prefer to book, so that also makes me a little leery that it is actually available.
  • Finally, 2 other hotels have a triple available in my price range, Brody House & Bohem Art Hotel, but looking at a map, they seem a little bit farther out from the recommended area (thank you James) i would like to be.

Advice would be appreciated as things are quickly booking up (Kapital was available a few days ago when I first checked.) I normally have things booked well before this, but I am very late (for me) with this trip and am starting to stress about it.

Thanks in advance.

I've stayed at the K&K a number of times and it is always the place that comes to mind first when I have friends, relatives or associates visiting and I don't have room for them. I'm part tourist and part something else and for me, it's the best location in town. For a first time traveler in town I think it's a better location than the others you mention. But I am very biased.

You do know, for less money you can get a nice short term rental that will fit your needs. That's the direction I would go.

Of the other 2, o would pick the Brody House for location. You will just spend a bit more time on the tram, but it's not bad and the 47/49 Tram is a good connector and can be fun to ride.

The Boheme Art hotel location, naaaaaa

Thank you James. I just booked 2 rooms at K + K. It was a little over my budget, but because I scored an awesome Flash Sale rate for our stay at the Hotel Jazz in Barcelona yesterday, I am under my per night budget for the trip. Plus both include breakfast, so that's always good for 20euro/day or so.

Thanks again - I am really looking forward to my first trip to both Budapest and Barcelona!

BTW - because of my excitement from reading these boards, my daughters have decided to stay the full 5 nights in Budapest before moving on. Either that or it's the prospect of not having to spend their own $$ for a few extra days ;)
