We will be in Budapest for 5 nights and would like to stay on the Pest side of the city. Does anyone have any recommendations on a hotel with a view of the Danube. Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

For a view of the Danube I'm not particularly thrilled about any of the options. The Intercontinental and the Marriott are both big box hotels, which doesn't excite me. But they both get very good reviews. The Sofitel also gets great reviews but the casino sort of turns me off; but others might like that. The Four Seasons would be my choice (if only I could). There are a few nice hotels in Buda with river views, but Buda is so inconvenient for a short stay or a first stay. I cant argue about a desire to have a view of the river. But there are a lot of really good hotels in great locations through out the city if the river view doesn't work out for you.

Look for apartments or B&B's over hotels. Unfortunately our apartment was up 77 steps. But it was air conditioned.
We just love staying in Pest, however.
