Budapest for 10 days. Restaurants/Cultural Experiences/Night Life

Greetings fellow travelers. As shared in an earlier post, my siblings mother and I will be spending 10 days in Budapest. While we've mapped out what we'd like to see in way of museums and suggested sights, I'd like to hear from you as to recommended restaurants/nightlight/cultural experiences. Recognizing that this is a broad question, any and all information would be helpful (my siblings and I are in out early 50s and perhaps too old for the "ruin" clubs?). I understand that Margaret Island has a summer festival?? Thanks in advance.

Hello Sylvia,

I will suggest my favorite dessert café, Ruszwurm Cukraszda. It's on the Buda side very close to the Matyas Church and the Fisherman's Bastion. The café has an old world charm.
Its address is Szentharomsag u. 7.

Sziget Festival is the during August, www.szigetfestival.com

I have a traditional restaurant for the Hungarian Fish Soup (Halaszle) on the Buda side. Its round the corner for the Art'Hotel.
Its called Horgasztanya Vendeglo , address is Fo ut 27.

If you are there during August, especially August 20th, that is St. Stephen's Day. Lots of celebrating throughout the town. Festivals at different squares. Food stalls , etc.

Enjoy your amazing adventure!

If you are questioning your age for the Ruin Pubs (and you aren't too old for at least an early evening visit), then you might want to do a little research before going to the Sziget Festival.

What are the dates in Budapest?
