budapest escalators and szentendre

Hi,
I will be travelling with a child. I want to avoid the escalators on the metro - I hear they are very fast and steep. Are there escalators in the HEV stations to szentendre and back to Budapest? If there are, is there any way to avoid them?
Thanks!

At Szentendre the train is at street level. I don't remember exactly, but I seem to remember stairs at the entrance in Budapest. But if there's an escalator it won't be the fast, steep ones like the metro, because the train isn't that far underground. Most of the trip is ground level.

I honestly don't believe you will have have problems on the escalators. They are no faster or steep than any escalator .... They just look a bit intimidating because of the height. Szentendre is served by the HEV station at Batthyany ter (square) in Buda. It is about 20 - 25 feet below the surface and i "think" there are stairs and an escalator going down. The easiest way to reach the HEV station is from Pest is by the M2 Metro, but that will require you coming up the long escalator. You could also take the 5/7 Tram that runs the outer loop road. It stops a short walk from the HEV station.

To avoid going down to the HEV station you could also take a taxi to the first stop on the way to Szentendre as that would be above grade.

Still, I honestly don't believe you will have have problems on the escalators.
