Budapest Cruise

Yes, it is totally worth it. We did the night river cruise the first night in Budapest. It was a lovely way to see the lights and beauty of the city. Especially the Parliament Building. I highly recommend a tour there during the day as well. One of the most gorgeous buildings I have ever seen.

I have done this a couple of times. IF, there is absolutely nothing else that interests you then sure, why not. Just make sure the boat leaves well after sunset. First for the lights and second because you are in a glass bubble and it can get uncomfortably warm when there is sun. On the dinner cruise the food is pretty fair. The one with out dinner is okay too. I seem to remember hors d'oeuvres and a glass of wine. But its been a few years. They also have ships with bands and music. My daughter and some of her friends did that about a year ago and enjoyed it. Expensive? I haven't priced it in years, but i think the VIP seating was something like 90euro when my daughter went last year; and the standard was much cheaper. Purchase online directly from the source and nto through a third party.

Cheaper Alternates. Ride the 2 tram on once side and the 19/41 tram on the opposite side. And if its early October, sit on the Corso and have a drink or even a meal and look at the lights. Pretty much where you will find me on October 1st.

While we're on this subject I've been wondering if it's necessary to book the one hour cruise in advance? I will be in Budapest from October 16 to 30. I thought maybe we should wait until we get there and go on a day that the weather is good. So does anyone know if the cruises fill up in advance?

I might do that this Saturday night. While James is sitting on the Corso on Sunday night, I will be sitting at the airport waiting to board my flight home . . . sniff, sigh, sniff, sigh.

Susan, the couple we done have been full or near full. If it's important to you I would book in advance. If it's not important, know that you can see the same from the trams if you can't get on the boat.
