Budapest 26 July through 18 August

Well, I have some side trips planned but I will be there most of that time.

If we have an RS types in town, I'll buy the first drink.

Has Budapest rebounded, have restaurants reopened to the way it was pre pandemic? Can you find airbnbs, or do you find you have to rely on hotels now? We love Budapest, look forward to going back, but read that their recovery from Covid has been tough.

I was there last October/November and this year in April.

Budapest went fully open in September last year; even did their Christmas Markets. Everything is up and running. There are signs of a few businesses that didn't make it but they are quickly being infilled with new businesses. No mask required anywhere, so some may not appreciate that. AirBnb's open and operating. Most survived, some had to restructure or went thru sales, but in the tourist areas the flats are too profitable as AirBnbs so they all pretty much came back.

COVID seems about the same as here.....

If you need any suggestions, ask. Happy to help.

I'll be arriving in beautiful Budapest next Friday. Let's hope that Lufthansa staff don't strike that again that day haha.

Already got my food options lined up:

Kívánság kifőzde
Rakoczi Market Hall for langos (because I've already been to the Great Market Hall enough times; but this is also in my itinerary haha)
Ruszwurm
Stand25 Bistro
Déryné
Bors GasztroBár
Rumour
Kollázs
Bobo Etterem
Retro Langos Bufe
Spago

This is over the course of three days. I hope I cover them all haha.

Looks like you will eat your way across Budapest (and at some very nice places)
I will be in Budapest next Friday and Saturday (5th and 6th) then I go off to Slovakia on the 7th for a quick fishing break and return here on the 12th and stay until the 18th.

James, I haven't bought tickets yet. I'm wavering - arriving BUD at 9 am, either Friday 2/12 or Sunday 4/12. Either way, for 4N, then on to Vienna, Nice and Barcelona.

I will probably stay an AnVa House, 53 Kazinczy u. but if you have another suggestion, let me know.

Chani, good chance I will be here. I want to be here during the markets that start 18 November. But not sure if I come prior or after. But will be 3 weeks.

Of the two places I usually stay one has a long term occupant. The other is mine I hope.

I don't have to tell you what Kazinsky u. is like in the evenings..... But you are young so ....

Would be good to see you again
