I will be in Budapest with my two adult daughters for only one night at Christmas time. We are staying at the Intercontinental Hotel. Can someone suggest a good place for breakfast? Certainly the hotel has a restaurant, but we would rather go to a local place for a typical Hungarian breakfast.
When we were last in Budapest, I'd walk 1/2 block to a great local bakery to get pastries and breads. Their quality is great and the prices very inexpensive.
The place was packed with locals and construction workers eating huge slices of pizza for breakfast.
You are staying in District V, there will be places all around you and up on Vaci utca too. If you want to get further away out of the most intense part of the tourist district then consider taking a walk or the M1 and visiting The Lion's Locker to meet the family or TwentySix Budapest for the atmosphere.
