Austria to Hungary by train

I will be traveling from Melk to Györ this summer by train. The Austrian train site, oebb, shows a Sparschiene ticket from Melk to Györ for 39 Euros. This seems rather high since the Melk to Budapest is 39 Euros and Melk to Sopron is only 9 Euros. I put in various dates and it consistently shows these prices. Any way to get a better price train from Austria to Györ than using oebb?

There seems to be fast, reasonably frequent bus service from Bratislava to Gyor by the company RegioJet, and it's cheap. Maybe you could leverage that?

The problem is that you can get a ticket from Vienna to Gyor from MAV, the Hungarian Railway for the equivalent of 9 EUR, but it must be collected in Hungary and since it is an international ticket, cannot be printed at home.

The price of an REX ticket from Melk to Vienna is 17.80 EUR, so in theory, it would cost 26.80 EUR, but only if you you were in Hungary beforehand to collect the Vienna-Gyor ticket. Otherwise, OEBB wants 24.40 EUR for the EC train from Vienna to Gyor, so the total price would be 42.20 EUR, a few EUR more than the Sparschiene price.
