Another Place for Hungarian Food

Margaret's at the first 4/6 stop after crossing the bridge from Pest. Walk towards river, down the stairs, cross under road and up the next stairs.

The best Hungarian and some Jewish / Hungarian menu at the unbeatable prices at a location with a view with terrific design and pleasant service. Yes a few tourists, but not a tourist restaurant.

Yes, I am impressed. My second visit this month.

Unfortunately it's Friday so the cholent wasn't crispy

Duly noted and marked on my maps.

I am feeling like I need to make a new compilation since the last one. You keep finding new places.

Yeah, I did a street view and from the outside it looks like the kind of place you might not notice as a tourist. The inside photos are a whole different story, though.

Ok, I can't figure it out based on "first 4/6 stop after crossing the bridge from Pest." Can you give me a bit more? Sounds right up our alley...

Isn’t it called Margaret’s Restaurant and Pub? - it will show up like that on Google maps.

If anyone is in town and is interested I have a source for a nice Eger Blend that sells for about $5 for a 2 liter (repurposed) bottle. The best vintage appears to be Thursday

Another. A hole in the wall looking pub in District V not too convenient to anything. Seats less than 40 if every 4 top had 4 people at it. Figure you and 25 others ... tops.

Dirty tiny menu cards, 3 kinds of draft beer, a few liquor bottles.

AND

The best palinka I have ever had
US 70's music (the best of it, what I use to play on the radio in another life).
Hungarian food from mama's kitchen. Not fancy, but done right and perfect.

Absolutely outstanding service.

The name Terv.
