Airport Transter for 4

Although I would normally take the Bus/Metro option to get into town, I am arriving with my Mom and Aunt (both around 60) along with my partner for their first trip ever in Europe! I have been outvoted on using public transportation, so my question is: What are the options for a group of 4 from the airport to our apartment (next to Gellert Hotel and Spa)? We will have 4 large bags and a couple carry on bags. Would we have to take 2 taxis, or are there van style taxis to choose from? If so, what would the price difference be on that? Thanks in advance!

http://www.bud.hu/english/passengers/access_and_parking/by_taxi Here's the link to the airport's page re taxis, I travel solo and just go to the Fo Taxi desk upon arrival and I know I've seen bigger mini-van style taxis. Last May my fare in a standard taxi was about 6600 forints, around $25 US.

I use City Taxi around Budapest and to return to the airport. I should also add that I've always been treated well by Fo and City taxi drivers, always a direct route, no going out of the way to take advantage of un-suspecting tourists.

FoTaxi has vans - not sure about the upcharge, but I can't imagine it being much. You might have to wait,a few minutes while they call one. I don't usually suggest hiring a driver, but if its a first trip and you want to make it really smooth then you might consider contacting this gentleman (Laszlo) http://silverwings.hu/ I use him when I have important people coming to town and I use him on occasion for our own needs. http://silverwings.hu/ He quoted 45 euro on a large MB sedan and 85 on a large MB van. Ask if he has something between the two.

Oh, public transportation from the airport really isn't that efficient. More time than saving $20 is worth. And with luggage? Naaa, you don't want to do that. BUT, you might want to try the next best thing and that's the shuttle bus service. A tad bit cheaper than a taxi and a lot cheaper than Laszlo. The information is linked to that page Christa posted. It works like this; you wait till they have a full load, then the bus takes off and drops people off in the order of the proximity of their locations. You are staying in Buda so I would suspect you will be towards the end of the run. So figure maybe an hour to an hour and a half worst case scenario? (by car its maybe 30 minutes depending on traffic)

Thanks, guys! Exactly the information that I needed! I'll probably just go with the taxi to save time and money. I'll just request a van. It's not my first trip (it's my 3rd), so I can provide the essential information for my Mom and Aunt. Thanks anyways!
