Airport ATM

Recently someone asked if there were ATM's at the airport. I played attention and there is good news and not as good news. Yes, to the left of the arrivals area exit door there is an ATM. Unfortunately it's a EURO machine so the rates aren't good; but for a few thousand forints it's fine I guess. There is also, in the same location, an Exchange booth.

Dont forget, the taxis do take credit cards.

Thanks James. You would think some of the banks would want the business at the airport and install some.

James -are you saying that the bank ATM machines that we have used there in the past have been removed?

I'm saying the only ATM I saw a few days ago, when leaving the airport by way of the Arrivals Hall was a EURO machine to the left of the exit door. If there are others ... great .... where?

I only saw the Euro machine when I arrived on May 2. It did allow me to decline DCC, so I'm hoping I end up with a standard exchange rate. There was no indication that I was to be charged a fee.

I do not remember exactly where they were, but I do recall we had a couple choices when we arrived in the airport in Oct 2015 and Oct 2016. In one case we arrived Schengen Terminal in the other from non-Schengen and through Passport control, but on both trips there was no issue getting Hungarian currency at proper rates, and if I recall none of this was far from the desk to get our transit tickets.

There may be other ATMs. I looked around the arrival hall when I came into town, because I remembered the question had come up on the forum. The only thing I saw was the Euronet machine. You really don't need to panic though as the taxis take credit cards and you can always wait till you get into town to get Forints.
