2 hours to kill between Budapest landing and check-in

Hi, the title says it all. Assuming our incoming flight is on time, we will have 2.5 hours until we can check in to our apartment, so two hours to kill not including our ride into the city. Since leaving luggage at reception is not an option, should we 1) kill time at the airport; 2) check our luggage in storage for a couple of hours; 3) any recommendations to chill and grab a beer and bite with our bags in the vicinity of the Blaha Lujza metro? We can walk from there.
Our flight lands at 12:30pm if that helps.
PS- We are NOT checking luggage so no time to kill at baggage claim either.
Thanks for any opinions or perspectives in advance.

If your flight arrival time is 12:30 and check in is at 3pm, you will reach the city center between 1:45 and 2:00 by the time you get off the plane and get a taxi. Tell me where are you staying and I can give you some ideas.

Ok thanks that’s not so bad! We are about two blocks from Szimpla Kert, so there are lots of places nearby, but we will have our luggage to contend with and I don’t want to annoy any other patrons or the business with our two rolling bags and backpacks.

I will get more specific and recommend Street Food Karavan for outside easy eating and time killing. Lots of food choices. And good!
Edit: depending on when you are going…..mid January might not be fun (or open).

its actually been a mild Fall. Next 10 days with highs nearly 50F. I might even open the windows and air the place out a bit. LOL
I hope you will be there for the opening of the Christmas Markets (the 18th I believe). Bad thing is it looks to be a tad wet. But most of the rain is short lived.

I’m in South Florida so that temperature sounds lovely, Mister E!
Yes, we were a little worried that we were too early for the Christmas market this year but we are coming just in time!
