My family will be (Yeah) in Budapest on New Years eve. On reading James post, he mentions reservations for cafe/bar .
James, your list is fantastic! Any favorite for New Years eve that you recommend for 7 ? ( 2 young(hah) parents and 4 + gal young adult sons)Maybe near good view for fireworks?
Thanks!

Thanks James, just saw this going thru and printing all the good advice I got from you guys.
I find my only complaint is Rick Steves needs a notify box when a reply has been posted. ;)

New Year's Eve breakfast? Or any breakfast???

A traditional favorite in Budapest for a very long time is Két Szerecsen Cafe House and Bistro. Its pretty close to your apartment.

Café Vian. There are three in town. I like the one in the Gozsdu courtyard the best but the one on Liszt Ferenc ter might be closer to your apartment. We eat breakfast maybe 3 out of 7 days at Café Vian, the other days we eat in the apartment.

Any breakfast ideas would be great. We usually stay at a hotel on the actually holiday but for Christmas and NY we are staying at Apts. No breakfast already prepared for us. Drats! James, do you know of a place in Prague by chance? I did take your advice and reserve at Ketszerecsen, they responded so kindly. :)
