Katona Apartments in Budapest

Awesome place to stay in the city center. A block from the pedestrian area, a couple of blocks from the Danube, less than a block to a metro stop, a short walk to the Central Market. We had an apartment that would easily and comfortably sleep four, a private bathroom, a fully equipped kitchenette, a washer, and a table and chairs. The owner, Virag, met us at the entrance at our check-in time, took us upstairs and pointed out every feature of the apartment. Then she stayed with us for a good 15 minutes to tell us about the city and give us advice on where and how to see everything we wanted to see. We paid 147 euro (US$187) for three nights in mid-September.

Thank you for posting this, Anne! We will be there in 2015 again and this looks like an excellent choice. I went to the site and looked at the photos of each room type and they are clean and pretty. That platform bed with the beds that pull out from underneath is so clever and a great space saver! I have never seen that before. I love the inclusion of a kitchenette and the washer/dryer. We will definitely try this. The price makes it an incredible bargain.

The name Katona caught my eye--I'm part Hungarian and that's our family name, I may have to check this out when I return to Budapest. I just spent 3 1/2 days there in August and it wasn't nearly enough.
