If you're searching for a great cafe, I would highly recommend both Central Café (Dist. 5) and Szamos for dessert and pastry. The atmosphere is great and the décor is beautiful. Budapest has great restaurants, too numerous to mention, but two of my favorites are Trattoria Pomo D'oro for Italian cuisine & Taverna Dionysos for fantastic Greek cuisine.
