I traveled for 30 months , late 1974 through early 1977.. in a nut shell ….i did all of Western Europe first by rail (2months) then bought a VW STATION wagon and went to Calle France and took a hover craft to Dover .. spent 6 weeks driving through England , Scotland. Wales. Then I went back the way I came , back to Calle and drove to Amsterdam. Sold the VW for what I paid for it $600?. A New Zealand man bought it.. I road with him to Brindisi Italy. From there I went to Corfu and on to the Greek islands for 6-8 weeks .. I then flew from Athens to Tel Aviv and worked on a kibbbutz for 10-11 months . I flew from Tel Aviv to Istanbul,,, and the hippie trail began .. I took the northern route..( by local bus and trains) Istanbul to Iran to Afghanistan to Pakistan to India . In India I went north to Nepal, going from Pokhara to Kathmandu.. I chose going north, to see the Himalayan mountains and Mt Everest!!!!!
That 30 month journey made me who I am today!

Top of the morning KM . Thanks for the kind words . I met a gentleman about 5-6 months ago.
He was in his 40’s .. He started to talk about the hippie trail, he said he was fascinated by it . I asked him if he ever met someone who traveled the HT?. He responded, never ! I said , well you are talking to one who spent 7-8 months on the trail.
He flipped . He asked me if I had ever done a pod cast about it ? I said I have never done a pod cast on anything.. He asked me if I would sit for one about the HIPPIE TRAIL. I said sure . Soooo
