Easy hippie trail

I was a Peace Corps volunteer in India for two years, 1970-1972. I got to India by air: New York, London(hotel overnight), Frankfurt, Istanbul, Beirut, Tehran, Delhi. I was allowed to go into the terminal in Beirut, but that was it. In Tehran the plane was surrounded by soldiers with machine guns, and I had to sit on the plane for several hours before we took off again. So I missed out on the fantastic overland journey the Rick Steves had. While in India I met up with several travelers that had made the overland journey from Europe to India, and enjoyed their tales . I really appreciate Rick’s book which has given me a chance to experience his journey. I have been fortunate enough to have had many travel experiences of my own. I have been to over 50 countries and all seven continents. I haven been on a number of Rick Steves tours, and have used Rick Steves guide books when traveling on my own. God bless Rick.

Salute for being in the Peace Corps, making travel a core focus in life, sharing your story and for visiting 50-plus countries in all seven continents, which must have included the Antarctic. I'm at 24 countries. Cheers.
